Wild Horse Hope was founded in 2006 by Scott and Josie Gwin. The vision to see children touched by horse and animal interactions burned deep enough to require a step of faith. Leaving behind a comfortable job, home, friends, and lifestyle in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, they followed God to the Northeastern plains of Colorado where a property was purchased with enough space to let the horses and kids run.
In July of 2009, Wild Horse Hope became part of Mercy Ministries of Colorado with the hope of providing more opportunities for healing and growth, not only to kids and families in the US, but also overseas in Romania and the Philippines.
Mercy Trails Ranch was chosen as the new name for the Ranch because of the symbolism it provides. Our journey through life is a series of trails and only with God’s presence and mercy can we navigate its many twists and turns.
Mercy Trails Ranch now sits on 150 acres of western prairie 2 miles outside the town of New Raymer, Colorado. It is 1 and a half hours from Denver and 1 hour from Ft. Collins, Greeley, Cheyenne, WY, or Sydney, NE.
This centralized location has been God’s ideal place to change the lives of many children and families.
The road to following a God given vision is often like the wagon trails of the old West, full of ruts and bumps.
Would you consider joining us in pulling God’s vision further along the trail?

You left a comment on my blog yesterday, and I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated your encouragment. Do you have any advice for me?
God bless!
Wow. This is so awesome!!!
Thank you so much for the comment! It really means a lot! You seem to have an awesome ministry here, and I hope that God blesses you and each and every family that you help. Have a blessed day!
Hi Scott,
Thank you for visiting my blog, A Quill and Inkwell. I am absolutely amazed at what you are doing with the horses and these children. We have had horses for almost nine years, and I used to teach lessons and take friends on trail rides here in MI. We have a ministry similar to yours called ‘Rising Hope’ nearby where my sister worked for a while, helping disabled children with the horses. Do you accept volunteers ever, if they wanted to help you at Wild Horse Hope?
God bless your ministry!
In Him
Phylicia D.
I do believe God put a special healing spirit in horses. Thanks for what you are doing, and thanks for visiting my site. We can share stories about girls growing up.
